Touring, as strenuous as it has to be (say I who have never toured but understands at least some of how much goes into it, and I definitely understand the exhaustion of travel), is probably going to have to make up for the lack of sales of recorded music. Of course then the issue becomes the affordability of seeing a concert. I can accept paying $45 to see someone but I can't really justify paying more unless it's a multi-performer gig or a festival. www.itemvn.com is a major player in the "free download" business. Some savvy artists (who probably employ staff to check for such things) have had their content on that website pulled. That website is now VERY buggy though. I'm not sure how that happened although it's kind of Karma in action. The internet: A classic case of being a blessing and a beast.
