I know the first one is by Henry Diltz. Used to have his Under the Covers DVD.
He talks about making classic album covers for So. Cal musicians, the Doors,
Jackson,etc. It was fun to watch once in awhile. Probably its on youtube,
(though you might have to sit through a 15 second tampax commercial). Is this
a contest to win something? :)Jeff

You never know, Joni fans are hard to fit into one bag. Of the major sports I
like baseball best because it means Spring is here finally, pollen and all. A
favorite Aunt of mine, in her nineties, is a die hard Indians fan, so I follow
them for her. Growing up, hanging out at my uncles he was always tinkering in
the garage with the transistor playing baseball games, so it reminds me of a
simpler, pleasant time. This looks like a great covers volume!

Hi Laura,B Once I'm in that tuning, I tend to stay there for a week or two,
its so beautiful. Someone at a Jonifest said, "Joni lets the guitar do the
work," and they're partly right. The songs are easier to play than they sound,
once you get the tuning set (I need a tuner). Another thing I did was learn to
use my right thumb just on the lowest string, the index finger on the fifth
string, then the other fingers on the remaining four strings. I then found it
easier to play songs with the "shuffle" feel, like Cherokee Louise. I got used
to that, and now I have a harder time playing songs like Urge for Going, Mike
from Mtns., etc that require precise finger picking. I really think most
people could play Joni guitar by putting in a reasonable amount of effort.
Piano, I don't know. I want to learn some, but don't know how/where to begin.
