One of them reflects slightly back to Joni in discussing the relationship between Beethoven and the invention of the metronome; remember the "Metronomi" anecdote she told on the BSN tour? Well, it seems that Ludwig may have designed his compositions to take musicians and listeners out of their comfort zone. This theory suggested by his later application of specific meter to his scores, most of which have been ignored by conductors and music students. This is a compelling listen. Another story discusses the Crossroads legend and Robert Johnson...fascinating and eerie. http://www.radiolab.org/story/power-music/ CC "You've got to shake your fists at lightning, now."-- CC ------------------------------ End of JMDL Digest V2014 #1909 ****************************** ------- To post messages to the list,sendtojoni@smoe.org.
