The one aspect of folk song that Joni often retained was the stanza by stanza form with the refrain at the end. During the Court and Spark era we heard more the pop format of verse, pre-chorus, chorus and bridge, such as in Help Me, but by the nineties she was back writing stanzaic verse forms, such as in Passion Play. Hi Nick! Good to hear from you! What is your favorite song on each of your favorite albums? How did you discover Joni? How did you find the JMDL? Have you ever seen Joni in concert? I hadn't heard the albums Hissing of Summer Lawns and Dog Eat Dog until I got on this discussion list over a decade ago. I felt like I struck a Joni gold mine when I heard them for the first time. Peace and happiness to you too! Laura in Johnny Cashland From: Nick Smith Subject: Hello fellow Joni fans! Hi everybody!
