I'm really enjoying meditating on Malka's book and the beauty of Joni's words in prose. It gets me Googling and watching You Tube videos of Joni to see more of what Joni talks about. There isn't anything as pure in the way of Joni sharing as this book being a dialogue between two friends. I particularly like Joni's story of Both Sides Now, how she talks about its openness for interpretation. In other words it gets the imagination centers going in the listener's brain. And neuro chemically that means people's dopamine starts flowing, the good chemistry of being moved. So who needs drugs unless of course one's brain makes too much dopamine in the first place?Probably why my brain loves Joni so much! Ahhhh dopamine! Here's a good article on the topic. The beauty is that with the new toys of neuroscientists, it is now measurable: http://news.discovery.com/human/psychology/music-dopamine-happiness-brain-110 110.htm Much dopamine to you!
