Some spots are quiet, (so I guess the assumption is that there is no loss in those places), but some seem to lose a whole lot. I actually tried downsampling an hd (192/24) track to 44/16 recently using dbpoweramp converter. it sounded downright horrible compared to the original. i was really surprised as i thought the difference would be marginal. rgds ron On 2015/02/17 08:18 PM, Dave Blackburn wrote: > We have had many a thread on the matter of data compressed audio (also video) > since I have been on this list. Certainly doesn't relate to covers as there are over 4,700 of those. Retro Volume coming up later today.
