The best we can hope for as artists is to do something that touches the listener in ways that deepens their life or creates a feeling that captures something universal. To give credit where credit is due on the whole record, it is the band as a unit that enabled me to sing in the style you hear - be it rhythmic, melodic or in the interpretation. Joni's songs are so evocative. Putting a jazz spin on her songs was very organic for us and came out of a group sound we already had before doing the record. With that said, your poetic words and insights, observations and perceptions are deeply appreciated.
