Hi Floriofamily, and welcome to the JMDL. You make many interesting points in your post. While Joni purports to eschew the limelight, either her creative spirit or her ego cannot let it go. She's done composing and singing so she works on a ballet, or becomes a fashion model (didn't see THAT ONE coming). In any regard, it's pretty cool to see Joni everywhere these days. Just got the new Vanity Fair yesterday with the Laurel Canyon article and Joni pictures and comments splattered all about. Good luck with the hunt on commercial radio. It's very generic. In our day we had AM radio playing the Arriana's and Taylor's of the day and FM playing the album-oriented stuff. Now AM is talk (I suppose...I haven't heard AM radio in some time) and FM is the Clear Channel Pop drivel. I listen to Sirius XM mostly and just yesterday heard "Cactus Tree" and lots of other diverse sounds. While there will never be another Joni, there are great records and artists coming out all the time. It was very encouraging to see Beck's "Morning Phase" win Album of the Year as it is indeed a work of artistry and not a factory-manufactured hits package. Anyway, stick around and join the conversation. Glad you're here.
