TI is a wonderful album and the standout track, for me at least is "Borderline". It is such a perceptive and insightful track: "Every bristling shaft of pride, Church or nation, Team or tribe, Every notion we subscribe to Is just a borderline". How many conflicts have been, and are still being, fought in the name of religion or nationalism, or both. How astutely Joni sums that up in just five lines. Brilliant and particularly poignant today Holocaust Remembrance Day. There are also those wonderful lines: " Good or bad, we think we know; as if thinking makes it so! All convictions grow along a borderline" In three short, concise lines she manages to convey so much that is both thoughtful and thought provoking. She is an incredible artist.
