Bob, re: STAS, CLOUDS, LOTC, BLUE & FTR I wouldnbt describe Joni's first five Albums as "stripped down", I understand YOU first discovered Joni with the COURT And SPARK album and it's your initial frame of reference, but b& I think the first five Albums are as fully realized, in their own way, as anything that followed. As someone who first encountered Joni in the folk clubs in 1967, I know that something was lost, as well as something gained, when she started performing with a band in 1974. There are others here who will tell you that those early Acoustic concerts were truly special. There was 'Magic' in the air, there were other aromas as well. - - - - - - As for DANCIN' CLOWN Why do you feel the need to go on and on and on about this one song? I get that you don't like it. I DO. Over the years I've had CMIARS playing on the CD player in my car. Whenever the CD gets to Dancin' Clown I usually press the repeat button. I like Dancinb Clown, always have.
