It came out at a difficult time in my life when I was numb and barely functional from heartbreak, ill health and depression. Nothing and no one could get through to me to help. The first time I played the album, every single song reached out and grabbed me to the core. It was like Joni was singing everything I was going through that no one else seemed to understand. And then the final song Judgement of the Moon and Stars was the perfect resolution to it all. It gave me encouragement to stand up and fight back the darkness and believe in myself. That album was a true lifeline and still leaves me in awe at the power of music to transform and heal.
