For me it would be 'Facelift'.  I first heard it during an NPR broadcast of 
the concert Joni did from the Gene Autry Museum at the Wells Fargo Theater 
in January of 1995.  I was a widower then, had been for close to two years. 
I was convinced I would never have another relationship or be in love again. 
In some way, that song told me it was wrong to deny that possibility to 
myself.  Later that same year I met Travis.  The second anniversary of our 
wedding will be next month.  Our third wedding anniversary will actually be 
the 20th anniversary of our partnership.  We decided he would move his 
belongings here in December of 1995.  For all practical purposes, he had 
been living here for some time before that.

For
the Roses is probably the album I have listened to the most in the past 5
years. Incredible writing. I was just reading the Rolling Stone review of 
that
album a few days ago. If anyone has never read that review, you should. The
review itself is incredibly written. It seems like no critics can write like
that anymore.Jeff
