I'm also not bowled over by remastering, but then I don't have a sound system that would really make me appreciate remastering (and I have no plans to buy such). I don't expect Joni to go into the studio and record new material again. I think those days are over. However, I'm not a fan of boxed sets in the first place and I don't feel any differently about this one, especially now that the playlist has been published. I've already created that playlist in my iTunes, so I can explore Joni's "themes" concept. The only information I'm missing is which version of certain songs Joni has selected.
