Subject: Re: Joni in November issue of GuitarPlayer Magazine Also, why would someone buy a magazine from EBay for $14.99 (plus shipping, I imagine) that they could get directly from the magazine's own website for $6.99 (http://guitarworld.myshopify.com/collections/guitarplayer/products/guitar-player-november-2014-brian-setzer)Do you ever wonder if people who sell weird shite like this on EBay are actually sending coded messages of some kind that have nothing to do with what they claim to be? Who, me? Paranoid? Just another thing to file in the "I don't get it" category. I wonder if the Joni song is the same one (Chelsea Morning, from the new book) that Acoustic Guitar had in a few issues ago. (I'm too cheap to buy this.) ________________________________ From: Laura O. I miss you too. Send some pictures. I'll call you next week." Its typical of her to spend a couple of years working on a ballet only to leave it as yet another dangling, unresolved sus chord, metaphorically speaking of course. I haven't analyzed the sequencing yet, but as I said, I really enjoyed the Beginning of Survival set. I like her 80's and 90's stuff more than most people and The Reoccuring Dream was great as an opening song. I never cared for it that much on side 2 of Chalk Mark, but it works great as an opener, really commanding one's attention, at least for me, kind of like Sufjan Steven's Free Man in Paris did on the tribute lp. Also the evolution of songs on Survival is intriguing, going I guess from songs about greed and shallowness to songs more about the heart and humaness (Impossible Dreamer). I'd like to see the film of that '69 Mississippi River Concert that was apparently filmed for PBS. That was a great show. The 'deluxe hardcover book' sounds awfully tempting. And Sue had a good point about the songs being remastered. As I recall, the music used for 'The Fiddle and the Drum' sounded great. I don't know what kind of sound system was used to play it.
