All of which makes me wonder who these things are made for: people who are Joni completists and have to have everything for whatever reason, or people who might have always thought about buying some Joni Mitchell music but never got around to it, or something completely different. So... what about that *other* boxed set, then, the one that was to have some of the live stuff (hitherto available as bootlegs) and some of the Holy-Grail-type things like the alternate Mingus or Mingus demos, or whatever that was supposed to have been. I'm impressed that Joni can get these things released when the music biz seems intent on not producing anything that they don't feel will rake in the money and wonder why she doesn't think about crowd-funding for projects the way people like Rickie Lee Jones are doing. Maybe Joni isn't interested in the hassle involved and maybe she has no idea that people would love to hear this stuff, and then again, just because some of us here clamour for it (not loudly enough, I guess) doesn't necessarily mean it would be a huge success, but I'm sure it would do very well and that she would more than make her money back on it. I really do hope someone on this list has Joni's ear, and that they can convey this to her, and that she listens. And, at the risk of sounding like a heretic, I'm less inclined these days to buy physical CDs because they take up too much room. ________________________________ From: Laura O. That was the reason it was cancelled, so we were told. A four hour production would require a much bigger Alberta Ballet company, but who knows? I'd so love that. I think the last time I had a Big Mac was back in the 70's. I remember my grandmother used to say she wasn't hungry enough for a Big Mac so would I get her a Little Mac instead.
