Also, Laura's father, who passed away two months ago at age 98, was able to hear the completed project before he passed on. Kakki ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 30 Sep 2014 15:05:56 -0700 From: kbhla@fastmail.fm Subject: Joni celebrates her birthday in L.A. I feel the same as Lesli - most of us here in SoCal saw the ballet when it was performed at UCLA, and some have had the opportunity to meet Joni at other events. However, if I could see an exhibition of her paintings for the $100 membership, I would jump on it, whether she showed up or not! There was a previous mention here of another event to take place at the Hammer Museum on Oct. 11th. It is their annual "Gala in the Garden" honoring Joni for her art. It is more of a private, formal affair and elsewhere there is a reference to the tickets being $1,500 for last year's gala. When I win the Lotto and become a rich philanthropist......haha! http://hammer.ucla.edu/support/gala-in-the-garden/ Kakki ------------------------------ End of JMDL Digest V2014 #1283 ****************************** ------- To post messages to the list,sendtojoni@smoe.org.
