I just, personally, really like the SOUND of her voice at this period of Out in the Country. I find the song tailored perfectly to her singing style and I get a feeling she really enjoys singing it. There seems to be great chemistry among them. I can't really hear Linda or Jackson, but at that point (1972) I think Joni was much more famous. Paul is limited as a singer of course. I've come across people who think Joni should just write songs and not sing, probably everyone has. Plenty of people think Dylan shouldn't sing, but he still does, if you want call it that. I've been reading up a bit on Paul Williams and I definitely want to see his documentary Paul Williams Still Alive. And he won a Grammy of the year award recently? Rambling a bit, but one of my favorite clips on youtube is the 1975 grammy awards for record of the year. I would imagine most people have seen it, buy maybe not. Its where Joni is nominated for Help Me and John Lennon and Paul Simon introduce. You have to type 17th Grammy Awards John Lennon and Paul Simon record of the year, I think. It is a beautiful positve song about being happy despite all the crappy things in the world, like cell phones, lawyers, distracted drivers that don't know where they're going, doctors pills giving you brand new ills, sex selling everything, etc. And it give more attention to S, which is so underappreciated. Here in NE Ohio on a gorgeous early autumn day, I will take a long bike ride and am going to take pictures and send them to Joni and see if she feels like painting them.
