She's not thought of as a harmony singer the way that Emmylou or Linda are, but she is a great harmony singer. Prior to this, my favorite singing of hers on someone else's album was on James Taylor's Long Ago and Far Away. Joni was sometimes referred to as the "sweet singer", and at this period I could see how the term applies. She sang beautiful duets with Johnny Cash. I love Laura and used to have most of her stuff, but things are scattered, so when I've needed a Laura fix in the past year or so I go to Youtube, and despite all the great songs Laura has written and composed and is famous for, I love hearing her do Oo-o Child. I've forwarded it to people, etc. I love the video clips of her in it. Ooh Child, most people know was popularized by the Five Stairsteps and written by Stan Vincent. I haven't seen if Stan Vincent sings it and Joni sings harmony on it yet :) ------------------------------ End of JMDL Digest V2014 #1265 ****************************** ------- To post messages to the list,sendtojoni@smoe.org.
