You're better off with a few cats. ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 24 Sep 2014 07:34:47 -0700 From: Jeff Clark Subject: [none] Some of my favorite interviews with "Joan" are from the Night Ride Home era. In the RS interview with David Wild she talks about her religous beliefs and a live radio interview in LA she talks about making NRM and talking about different types of music, comparing and contrasting symphonies to the pop album. Thanks to the jmdl I was able to enjoy so much great stuff. Now of course everything is available with the click of a button. btw, after 30 years of being a fan Joni said I could call her "Joan" once in awhile. ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 23 Sep 2014 08:19:53 -0400 From: Bob.Muller@Fluor.com Subject: Re: Hejira Live gets its first review NJC That's a stellar review Dave, and well-deserved as well. Joni may have retired but her music is now part of the permanent culture and needs to be kept in the present, not as a museum piece. Our band, along with many other superb artists on this list, is accomplishing this goal. thanks Dave - ------------------------------------------------------------ The information transmitted is intended only for the person or entity to which it is addressed and may contain proprietary, business-confidential and/or privileged material. I've witnessed that magic on many occasions. And I'm sure he's right about the production although I haven't ordered my disc yet. Will do so today!! I read her autobiography this year, quite good. I don't know if any of you dabble in Classical. I occasionally do. The other day coming home from work i heard Debussey Pelleas et Melisande and really enjoyed it. I know that Debussey is a composer that Joni has mentioned enjoying. I like to listen to stuff that inflluences Joni and other artists. I never would have gotten into Edith Piaf or Billie Holliday or Miles Davis if not for hearing of them thru Joni in her '79 interview in RS. Although the song playing in my head continuously on heavy rotation this week happens to be Cat Stevens Oh Very Young. It will probably be playing constantly for about another week. Kenny Chesney was on tv today, dosen't do a thing for me. But I enjoy occasionally watching That Metal Show on VH1 Classics. It cracks me up how enthusiastic those metalheads are with their lists of greatest guitar solos. I do like Rush, that about it. Its all good! ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 22 Sep 2014 10:13:43 -0600 (MDT) From: TheStaff@JoniMitchell.com Subject: New Library item: Metallica's Robert Trujillo eager to spread 'Jaco' love Title: Metallica's Robert Trujillo eager to spread 'Jaco' love Publication: USA Today Date: 2014.09.22 http://jonimitchell.com/library/view.cfm?id=2834 ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 23 Sep 2014 18:02:00 +0100 From: Anita Gabrielle Subject: Re: Hejira Live gets its first review NJC Yes, fantastic review, Dave, but no less than you deserve.
