I take comfort in hearing Joni express the feelings that I cannot express, which assures me that I am not alone. It also comforts me to know that so many others deeply connect with her music. By the transitive property, there are many who share these emotions. That is something completely different from what I get out of actual relationships. Although Joni seems like a kind, honest person and she'd be interesting to hang out with, I don't long to do so.
