Yeah! Yeah!: The Story of Pop Music from Bill Haley to Beyonce". There is a brief discussion in the positive review of the book about Joni Mitchell: "His own [opinions]are occasionally barbed and refreshingly honest; he even dares to tip a few sacred cows. "The real problem for her," he writes of Joni Mitchell, "was that other people made her songs sound more lovable... {Her music] thought it was a little cleverer than it was, and sabotaged a lot of her charms." I haven't read the book but if you're going to recycle comments made in 1969, then it probably isn't my kind of book. Have a great week. Here's another cd's worth of Joni covers, Volume 193. New stuff, most of these coming from 2013. The Swingle Singers recording is from a hard-to-find recording from 1987. The Swingles have also recorded Both Sides Now, River, and In France They Kiss On Main Street. > Tracy Wundrock turns in a lovely version of one of my favorites and one that is too rarely done. Big Yellow Taxi give us another that Joni never released. The Idea of North do a very playful and creative BYT while Michael & Jello takes the same song in a ska direction. Many more goodies in this batch. > > https://www.yousendit.com/download/ZUcyQk13TXY3bUQ1SE1UQw > > 1. The Idea of North - Big Yellow Taxi > 2. Leora Cashe - Michael From Mountain > 3.
