WE have always purchased the Apple Care and have found it to be so useful. On my last MacBook Pro there was a design issue with the MotherBoard and even a year out of warranty they replaced my mother board at no charge which could have been a $900+ cost to me. Then I have always taken advantage to call and use the support to learn and be up to speed on software and new OX functions etc. Is this an extended warranty from the store you bought it or are you still able to get Apple Care at this point? The store ones other can be dicey so be careful cause $250 is alot of dough for something like that. Good luck. I believe the first generation of Airs had flimsy casings that flexed because they were so thin but that has been fixed. Ive used Macs for 25 years with almost no problems. If you take yours places and it is at risk for being dropped or liquids spilled Id extend the warranty but if it mostly lives at home and you treat it carefully I wouldnt. I bought the five year warranty on our two MacBook pros and it was never needed. Ipads and iPhones may be another thing entirely as they get carried around and dropped so easily. Should I spend the $250.00 for an extended warranty for 2 more years which also means tech support for the two years as well or save my money so if the hard drive does crash I have funds to help fix it? I always figure that If I get the warranty somewhere is cyberspace they know and nothing goes wrong but no warranty then suddenly everything goes haywire. > > Any insight or help would be greatly appreciated. > > Catgirl ------------------------------ End of JMDL Digest V2014 #39 **************************** ------- To post messages to the list,sendtojoni@smoe.org.
