I was wondering - is there a definitive list of Joni bootleg recordings? I just found some new recordings - not all good ones - but I was curious whether someone had compiled such a list. ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 9 Jan 2014 15:18:03 +0000 From: "Susan E. Well, if you must know, we did a version of Eastern Rain, Joni's song that was never released. We put a Balkan flare on it and did it in 7/8 time (for you musicians out there) and it turned out beautifully - fell right into place in that time signature. Looking forward to presenting one of her songs that most people don't know about!! Other than that "surprise" you'll all be familiar, of course, with the repertoire and I couldn't be happier!! Can't wait for you all to hear it. There are many, many appearances that have been recorded and are in circulation. Back in the trading days, those of us that had recordings either from tape trees, CD trees, or other sources would keep up with what we had, share our lists with other collectors and expand our collections by trading accordingly. The technology and philosophy have evolved quite a bit since then. I don't know if anyone is still trading CD's or tapes these days. Someday, it'll all be available to stream online; much is there already. Howdy all, and happy weekend. Hope everyone is warm and safe, there is some extreme weather going on, even here in SC. But there's always one way to heat things up, and that's a new set of Joni covers. Herein is a brand new collection, Volume 180 in the never-ending story. For Jimmy, the last of the Suzanne Sheridan tracks, for those who like the deep track covers, there's Patrick Wolf singing "Willy" and Adriana Vasques gives us a straight read on "Blonde In The Bleachers" which is kind of refreshing as this one typically gets very creative treatments. Ah, such a pretty song and you can really hear the Laura Nyro influence on this one. Michael Ball kicks it off with a nice BSN - we just heard from him a short while ago with his lovely take on River. My personal faves also include Bjorn Berge's Woodstock and a clean jazzy Dry Cleaner from Unstablemates. Rory Storm's "You're So Square" is sloppy fun. Laura Bernay turns in a couple of gems from STAS - the title track and a "Michael From Mountains", just for Sue! And wait til you hear Marion Rampal's cover of "Urge For Going", she brings lots of new colors to it and makes it all her own, just spell-binding. Is that a bass clarinet? A bassoon? An oboe? Not sure maybe someone with a better ear can let us know? http://goo.gl/2R4UTK 1. Michael Ball - Both Sides Now 2. Hotel Cinema - River 3. Unstablemates - The Dry Cleaner From Des Moines... 4. Adriana Vasques - The Blonde In The Bleachers 5. Lee Eunmi - Both Sides Now 6. Suzanne Sheridan - River 7. Suzanne Sheridan - Woodstock 8. Suzanne Sheridan - Big Yellow Taxi 9. Patrick Wolf - Willy 10. Laura Bernay - Song To A Seagull 11. Laura Bernay - Michael From Mountains 12. Christy Wessler - Both Sides Now 13. Rachael Warwick - Big Yellow Taxi 14. Charity Vance - River 15. Marion Rampal - Urge For Going 16. Bjorn Berge - Woodstock 17. Rory Storm & The Hurricanes - (You're So Square) Baby, I Don't Care 18. Silver Creek Intermediate Chorus - Both Sides Now 18 Songs, 18 hits! Enjoy.
