Joni herself has said that she has been told she is from Mars, so you may be on to something with that extraterrestrial thing. It's interesting how she has written so many spiritually connected songs, or perhaps songs that come from another plane, but yet is very earthy in other ways, including many of the less-than-kind-but-probably-not-intended-to-be-nasty comments she has made about the state of the world and the music business. Although many of us would probably agree with some, or even a lot, of what she says, particularly that the music business is the cess pool she describes it as, probably moreso now than ever, and that there is a lot of complete crrrrrap out there being foisted on to the public (who apparently don't recognize it as crap), it's not all crap and, unfortunately, Joni seems to lump it all in to the same heap o' crap. (I could have made that sentence longer, I guess.) Maybe it's the Scorpio in her, stinging without thinking about it.There is good stuff out there and real talent, but you have to know where to find it, I guess. She did say last night that she wanted to retract her recent statements about how honour had died in WWII and that she was having to make a lot of retractions. Her statement about honour having died was in reference to her thoughts that people doing tributes as a way of honouring people like her had more to do with them wanting to promote themselves. I think that, seeing the talent on stage last night (and I could see her using the zoom on my camera lens, so I know she was bopping out to the music and enjoying it immensely), she changed her mind about what that kind of honour means. >________________________________ > From: James Lacy >To: "joni@smoe.org" >Sent: Wednesday, June 19, 2013 3:47:29 PM >Subject: Re: JMDL Digest V2013 #747 > > >Hi folks, > >I am new to Joni's site and would like to know if anyone agrees with me that she is extraterrestrial like beautiful and perhaps more so than any spiritual living female singer in history? >I am 63 and was born in the Haight/Ashbury in 1950. I was and always be an original Haight born hippie. Joni looked and acted like a poster child for our movement. She is like the archetypical hippie Goddess musician. I also noticed she is a Scorpio! So looking forward to the best that is yet to come from this angel. > >James Patrick Lacy ------------------------------ End of JMDL Digest V2013 #780 ***************************** ------- To post messages to the list, sendtojoni@smoe.org.
