I finally found a Starbucks with free WiFi! Catherine, thank you for posting all these wonderful photos. I didn't bring my camera for fear that it would be confiscated. I had read that cameras were not allowed. What do I know. I did manage to record some of the interview on my phone, but am so thrilled that a lot have you have already seen it. As Catherine mentioned, we all felt as if we had been invited into Joni's living room to chat, with Joni doing most of the talking, of course. It resembled that even more when Joni plopped her very large designer bag on the coffee table and started rifling through it, exposing her make up bag and other items, looking for her smokes -- haha! Honestly, the entire audience was completely relaxed and mesmerized. There was a whole lotta laughing and crying at the same time going on. Brian Blade was so sweet and shy. You could tell that he absolutely adores Joni, and it seems mutual. I got the feeling that he was there more in support of Joni then to be interviewed himself. Since the interview has been posted, I'll write more later about the concert. I do want to thank our lovely hosts, Catherine, Pat Hillis, and Anne Madden. We are having a blast! Catherine made us a wonderful dinner on Monday night, after the Times Talks. We also met her great kids. Last night Pat and Anne provided us with a fabulous dinner that they had made. Good food and conversation was had by all. Afterwards, Sue T., Catherine, and Pat blew us away with an excellent mini concert. They played, Hejira, People's Parties, and Circle Game --all of which they had rehearsed together for the first time that afternoon! They were amazing! They sounded as if they had been playing together for a long time. Ah, the magic of Joni's music and talented musicians :-) Patti and I had attended the afternoon's Luminato Talk with Sylvia, (of Ian and Sylvia) and ?? I am drawing a blank on the gentleman's name. Patti took notes so I'll let her fill you in. She hasn't had internet access either. Sylvia is funny, smart, and gorgeous! I can't sit still any longer --I have to go out and breath that fresh Toronto air!
