I was inspired to hear that there are some outtakes from Mingus that could surface. I think that would be such fun. A memoir from Joni should include lots on recordings we have not heard and video footage etc. I laughed so hard and was driven to tears at some of the stuff and I look forward to hearing this one again. Ah what a great day it was today... Love Paz Michael Paz michael@thepazgroup.com On Jun 11, 2013, at 8:03 PM, Susan E. He really did a great job in corraling Joni in at points and she took it in good stride. I was most excited about the talk of releasing the Mingus tapes too, what a gift that would be!!! I also totally agree with Joni about the classical nature of Song To A Seagull and how it was more symphonic than folk ... I always felt that way. I also loved the way that she always stepped back from the discussions of fame and brought it back to the process ... and boy did she skewer that guy who interviewed her about Dylan!!! It was almost as bad as Dylan skewering the guy from Time in Don't Look Back!!! HAHAHA! yet another great Dylan imitation. :-) Woo Woo Joni!!! What a blessing that she found the Chinese healer to help her spine and I think I appreciate, like you Dave, more what a fighter she has been. I reckon looking into the eyes of Death has certainly helped to give Joni a love for the ordinary things in Life. I love the fact that she is a pool player and sounds like a real Pin Ball Wizard/Witch who likes to play to Duke Ellington as soundtrack. Great stuff.
