Here's another blast from the past in case you didn't get it back in the day. Certainly many things here worth having. Kick it off with a nice jazzy take on Morning Morgantown and then probably my favorite, Mark Isaacs' lovely cocktail-jazz BSN; matter of fact, this really does sound better with a cocktail. A fleet of taxis; mostly all inspired by the Counting Crows. A rarity from none other than Dolly Parton from her 70's TV show. She would of course go on to record and release her take on the franchise. Anyway... Click: http://goo.gl/Cymis 1. The Kim Portnoy Trio - Morning Morgantown 2. Mark Isaacs - Both Sides Now 3. Soundalike - Big Yellow Taxi 4. Anita Skorgan - River 5. The Pennine Folk - The Circle Game 6. Damien Goya with Francis Goya - Both Sides Now 7. The Eyewall Band - Big Yellow Taxi 8. Klonakilty - Carey 9. Klonakilty - River 10. Kai Jansen - Both Sides Now 11. Su' Bop - The Dry Cleaner From Des Moines 12. Northeastern University Downbeats - Big Yellow Taxi 13. Julia Murney - A Case Of You 14. The Silent Jazz Trio - Both Sides, Now 15. Jonathan Rayson - River 16. Dolly Parton - The Circle Game 17. The Retro Rockets - Big Yellow Taxi 18. The Retro Rockets - Woodstock 18 tracks, 18 hits - enjoy. This time it's with Corky Siegel, who headlined at the Chessmate in Detroit back in 1966, featuring Joni as the opening act. He shares insight into the time and into some demo recordings he helped Joni record. Thanks to Bob Muller for conducting the interview! http://jonimitchell.com/library/view.cfm?id=2594 By the way, the JoniMitchell.com Interview project is ongoing. If you have suggestions for someone from Joni's past we should interview, let me know! I'm so looking forward to all this. Jian Ghomeshi is such a cool dude. It should be interesting to hear them together, since I'm not all sure he quite likes Joni. He's already commented on air that she smoked throughout the entire interview (wink), which was a first for him; he also claims that Joni is a very opinionated person :) So, we'll see how it goes. He usually asks good questions about the creative process, being a writer and a musician himself.
