Subject: Luminato + A 'Perceptual' Album From Brian Blade

Yes, Bob......I remember seeing Brian Blade at the United Center touring 
with Joni in 1998.  So altho I haven't 'followed'
him I am familiar with his name, when it comes up,  and the fact that 
he's a drummer.  But that was about the extent of my knowledge.
I also just noticed he is the band leader ("direction"), as well as 
drummer for the upcoming June 2013 Luminato
appearance.  That prompted me to do some digging and found two articles 
alerting me to the recently posted
YouTube video-sound of the song, Steadfast.  Searching also dug up the 
archives where you & Kakki had a discussion about
this way back when......but I never actively looked for the album, nor 
do I remember the discussion.
So this all came as something surprisingly new to me.

So, I was very excited to find all this info for the website.

I do have a question re: the video........do you believe we are hearing 
Joni's voice at
@5:09 to 5:19 / 5:24?  I believe it is her voice (tho my hearing isn't what
it used to be).  My son thinks it could be electronic.  I don't have the 
album
to see if electronic music was used.  I know I've been amazed before when
what I originally heard as an actual instrument.....turns out to be the 
instrument
of Joni's amazing voice itself (Court and Spark album is a good example 
of this).

What do ya think?  Is that actually Joni's voice??  I'm curious

This record is really great. I bought a copy when it came out for the Joni
bit but love the whole thing. For those who have not heard Joni's
contribution on "Steadfast" you are missing out. Laura (I'm guessing) has
linked the article to the video so you can hear it RIGHT NOW. Haunting and
beautiful and everything that her next project should have been.
