[Anita G Subject: Re: I'll never forget whatshername... Hi Barbara I am sorry to hear your MS has given you allergies that have interfered with you creativity. That must be a pain. You will find many here on JMDL who share your passion for Joni's words. I understand from people on this site that Joni is not interested in the Internet (or hasn't been) and if you have any hope that she reads JMDL then I would prepare to be disappointed. If sending your poetry and paintings would be helpful for you, then you should send them. However, I think many here would say that she is unlikely to respond. When I have wanted to give anything to Joni, I have asked myself what it is that I want from her? Is it some kind of recognition, or some kind of connection or something I feel is healing? Do I want Joni as my friend or I do I imagine she is some kind of kindred spirit? I am sure Joni gets lots of 'crap' sent to her and I expect she also gets lots of things sent that carry great meaning to those who send them. I know folk on this site who have personally given things to Joni and people who have sent stuff by post. Quite what Joni makes of it I often wonder. My sense is that she knows her music has deeply touched the lives of thousands and thousands of people, but I imagine if she responded to everyone she'd never have time to paint herself!
