She is sensitive to having her interpretation altered or tainted or even enhanced by the opinion or insights of others. It takes something that was precious to her and alters it. Joni herself refrains from dissecting her lyrics so each person can have their own experience. I'm not choosing a side by chiming in. Just playing the devil's advocate. When I catch a glimpse of an email with EGG in the body I just delete it.
