I guess I was approaching this from the perspective of a professional write, which I have been for 36 years. As a writer, you must assume that there will be new readers to each article who did not read previous articles, so they would not know any of this information you or Bob have mentioned about previous concerts, but the writer omitted. I was not suggesting that the Mutts add a song from Blue, only that the writer should have acknowledged that the Mutts already had covered Blue. Otherwise, the fresh reader who is at least superficially familiar with Joni's music and career path would wonder why the writer did not mention Blue among Joni's "pre-Court & Spark era -- namely Song to a Seagull, Clouds,Ladies of the Canyon and For The Roses -- Paul Ivice ;>) From: Robin Adler The writer attended our Blue and Court and Spark concert and wrote a preview and review about it. Since we've been performing Joni's music in San Diego for 8 years and have had several write ups it's not a new news when we do a show. What's new is that every time we do a show it's new material. So, most of the people that follow us know that. But I see what you mean Paul. Dave thought we should have thrown in some songs from Blue but I made the decision to do all new material. Having said that, if we get an encore we may do one of the gems from "Blue". My best to you all, Robin ------------------------------ End of JMDL Digest V2013 #414 ***************************** ------- To post messages to the list, sendtojoni@smoe.org.
