She seems very down-to-earth. I also think the Oscar performance wasn't her best. Maybe she's tired of singing that song. Generally speaking, I find Oscar "best songs" are a boring lot, though. How many Oscar best songs do we remember years later? (For that matter, how many "best" anythings do we remember from the Oscars?) I sort of saw the movie. I fell asleep part way through. Although the cinematography is excellent, I think that, once you've seen one Bond film, you've seen them all. It's basically the same story told over and over again. >________________________________ > From: Mark >To: Bob.Muller@Fluor.com; Lindsay Moon >Cc: Joni List >Sent: Monday, March 4, 2013 9:31:59 PM >Subject: Re: "Skyfall" (VLJC) NJC > > > >That being said, I was somewhat underwhelmed by her performance of 'Skyfall' on the Oscars show. The orchestra seemed to be overpowering her when she was singing in her lower register. I was happy to see her win the award, but I didn't think the song was particularly great. Fine for the theme of a James Bond movie, though. Maybe I need to hear the studio recorded version of it. I have to confess, I haven't seen the movie. > >Mark in Seattle > >- ------------------------------ End of JMDL Digest V2013 #322 ***************************** ------- To post messages to the list, sendtojoni@smoe.org.
