In the picture of her at the side of her pool, you can see that her nails were painted a purplish color, but they are totally thrashed. Celebrities are just like us: their manicures get ruined. Also, I can't come close to bring able to afford a custom printed photo. I am seriously considering one of the art.com posters of her Vogue pic, though. Fess up. Who has a poster hanging in their bedroom? (The marvellous thing was that I agreed with everything I said and found myself most interesting.) As nobody else participated in the ballet threads, I imagined no JMDLers would be coming to the ballet. Now it has been cancelled I see there were loads of you planning to come! It would have been so wonderful to not only see ballet, but to meet you all around my 60th. I am doubly gutted. You are such dark horses you JMDL folk! Recently I discovered, soon after we returned from Ruby Lake and the ballet was announced that Steph had written to Jean Grand Maitre ( yes, a letter not an email) and told him of my love for Joni's music and for the ballet and that she wanted to arrange a 60th birthday surprise for me. Unbeknown to me, Steph made a great relationship with the ballet company administrators. When I started to try and buy tickets in August, Steph announced that we had tickets arranged for May 1 st and 3rd and could even go to Edmonton the following week if I wanted. She then told me we had tickets 2 rows from Joni on the 1 st and would be going to the after show party. I suspect that Joni found out we were going, just couldn't face meeting those English girls again so pulled the plug. Anita PS My Steph - what a gal! We bought our tickets for the April 30th opening night. Yesterday we get a call from the ballet company box office saying Joni felt the theme of love she wanted to explore could not be adequately captured in a single ballet. So she pulled the plug, and all the tickets sold have to be refunded. We hadnt yet bought airfares yet, fortunately. I think rehearsals may have already begun so it might represent quite an economic hit for the Alberta ballet, unless Joni covers their losses. > > I guess the lady told Robin on the phone that they respect her artistic vision and that Joni was known for being uncompromising!
