We bought our tickets for the April 30th opening night. Yesterday we get a call from the ballet company box office saying Joni felt the theme of love she wanted to explore could not be adequately captured in a single ballet. So she pulled the plug, and all the tickets sold have to be refunded. We hadnt yet bought airfares yet, fortunately. I think rehearsals may have already begun so it might represent quite an economic hit for the Alberta ballet, unless Joni covers their losses. I guess the lady told Robin on the phone that they respect her artistic vision and that Joni was known for being uncompromising! Now that is headline news! You heard it here first.
