The high resolution files are needed to create the vinyl anyway, but then the vinyl has to be mastered, have cover artwork added, test pressings made and approved, pressed, and then shipped to the warehouse! With downloads, all those costs are gone. Our record label labors over our vinyl releases; they're a ton of work. By comparison, digi-downloads in all formats are a piece of cake -- essentially free to prepare and distribute!
