Think we all are still recovering from such an incredible show and fun after-party ;-) It was magnificent and had some new twists with the addition of Jamie Kime on guitar and Kevin Hennessy on bass. We missed Barnaby Finch this time but Hejira doesn't call for piano. Jamie is world class (and has his own Wikipedia entry;-) and has played with Dweezil Zappa, Jewel and Michele Branch. He was amazing and we all dropped our jaws when he played. His style reminded me of early Larry Carlton. Robin, Dave and Danny Campbell on drums were gorgeous perfection as usual. Dave's arrangements were wonderful. Another new twist was 3 back-up female singers on Song for Sharon and a few other songs. Those ladies are in a group that sings 40s, Andrews sisters style songs. They had seen previous Mutts shows and asked to participate in this one. They were wonderful! I had all the songs replaying in my head the next day. We had a great turn-out of the local JMDLers and Bob came in from S.C. for the show. Bob did a fantastic job introducing the band. JMDLers there (outside of lurkers we were unaware of) were Lindsay, Steve and Michele Dulson, Roch and Deanna, Dave and Kati Ganzer, Lesli, and Sue Glumac and her friend Kristin. A bunch of us booked rooms at a very nice Rodeway Inn next door and proceeded to having a fun after-party that lasted till about 5 a.m.! Some band members and other talented musicians were at the party, too, and it was all just a really great time! Wish you were there!
