Besides listening to Joni all day I'd go out every night no matter what shift I worked and would close down the local disco dancing around in my polyester attire amid the aroma of amyl nitrate called Poppers)...Thelma Houston, Donna Summers, Evelyn Champagne King, Rick James and even Grace Jones...so great, all of them! I had the great chance of meeting Grace after her 3-hr concert in Chicago when she invited us all to follow her to the Vortex bar (where the infamous serial killer/cannibal Geoffrey Dahmer later used to capture his meals and take them to WI) Grace was very tall and so beautiful like all her fashion mag covers and so very sweet to us all! She autographed my album covers before going back into her limo. ["Push Up to the Bumper"] The 1970s were SO cool in so many ways and so many musical genres. I also recall the Mill in Niles as I lived in the Chicago suburbs too, back then. Good mem'ries, thanks!
