I'm not sure if I'd say that arrogance is the right word. But there is a LOT of ignorance, and failure to pursue any type of education beyond what is needed to make money. I think there's a general attitude anymore that people can't be bothered to get the information they need to make informed decisions...and hence, we have the tremendously embarrassing and nightmarish legacy of George Bush. That left a LOT of us scratching our heads. A lot of opinion anymore is "knee jerk" and misguided. I think the gun statistic is just another example of that. In my opinion, we've got shit for a government, major corruption there and in most of our financial instructions, a snoozing (for the most part) press...hence no accountability! It's very scary. Most things here in the good old USA are a mess. The last point i'd make is that anymore, there seems to be a very sad lack of diplomacy and statesmanship. Gone are the days when someone/anyone could put their hands on the brakes and bring the runaway train to a screechimg halt!!! I'm thinking anymore that recent trends in everything make the formerly ugly legacy of Richard Nixon seem carefree and rosy! Gak...what's the damn planet coming to???? :( Sent from Confunction Junction on my iPhone On Jan 28, 2013, at 6:07 PM, Catherine McKay wrote: > Obviously not all Americans are religious extremist right-wing gun-totin' > fanatics (did I leave anything out?)
