And who could argue that Hejira would be No. 1. Sometimes Blue is or FTR, but Hejira really is a masterpiece. I always have it on rotation in the car. His opinion : If there's ever been an album that demanded to be heard as a complete work of art on its own terms, it is Hejira; not a day goes by that I'm not glad it exists. AMEN. The album never gets old. GREETINGS FROM THE TRIPLE M Down a gravel road, where the barb wire meets the sky. MARY M. Although I don't agree with some of his reviews or rankings, I can say that this author knows his stuff. My biggest complaint is his hatred of Turbulent Indigo! DISAGREE!! In my opinion, Turbulent Indigo is a master work of Joni's late career guitar and songwriting style. I do agree also that For The Roses is a masterful album that did get lost in the shuffle between Blue and Court and Spark. I don't have time to go through how I would rank the albums but I would say my top five from better to best is Hissing, TI, Court&spark, Blue and Hejira. And of course I do agree with this sentiment: If there's ever been an album that demanded to be heard as a complete work of art on its own terms, it is Hejira; not a day goes by that I'm not glad it exists.
