Barbara, in case you missed it (or haven't seen it yet), Laura has posted 
the link where you can hear it. Joni did record "Day After Day" in the 
studio so the version is very nice. It's a pretty song, very Nick 
Drake-like.

The Danish duo Big Yellow Taxi also did a cover version of it.

Also very cool about this link is that if you scroll down you will find 
easy access to many of her unreleased early songs. Happy listening!

He and I became the house acts; he's Mycroft of the Times Square Two now. For both of us it was our first professional gig in Calgary, Alberta......<br><br><

I wrote one song in Calgary. I don't remember what it was about. I wrote it for Peter. I don't remember how it went and I am sure he doesn't either. The next one I wrote was <b>Day After Day</b>. I wrote it going out to the Mariposa Folk Festival. That was in August, 1964.</b>

I find it somewhat Odd that Jonathan has the 1st disc but not the 2nd, and 
...
Donald has the 2nd but not the first.

Please folks ... DO share these recordings with friends, BUT ...

PLEASE share the Complete recording(s) as you rec'd them.

PLEASE share these recordings in the SAME quality as you rec'd them.

Please, let's not compress a 16bit/44k aiff/wav file into a compressed, 
inferior mp3 copy.

I'll send a link for DownLoading the 2-Disc Set  "2nd Fret Sets"  later today, or tomorrow.

However, before I do, there is a radio program that will provide some background and perspective.
It's the logical place to begin.

Between 1966 and 1968 Joni made several trips to Philadelphia.
There were appearances at the 2nd Fret, the Main Point as well as Gene Shay's "Folklore" radio program.

Ed Sciaky recorded several of Joni's club appearances and also interviewed her backstage at The Fret.
Joni's several appearances on "Folklore" were also recorded.

Some of these recordings are included on the 2-Disc Set "2nd Fret Sets"

At various times Ed or Gene would revisit Joni's Philadelphia appearances and play selections from their recordings.

However, to the best of my knowledge, there was only one occasion when both Ed and Gene were together in the
studio (WMMR-fm) with a careful, planned presentation.

THAT's the recording I recently UpLoaded via Hightail.

A content list is included (below) with this message.
However a pdf.copy is included with the zip.archive.

This broadcast was recorded by a good friend in 1974.  His copy is an open-reel tape recorded at 3 3/4 ips.
The cassette copy I rec'd was recorded on a C-120 Maxell LN cassette w/o Dolby Noise Reduction.

So, there IS a certain amount of Tape Hiss.

However, this shouldn't detract from your enjoyment of the program.

Wow thanks, Pat!  Listening to Urge for Going, Chelsea Morning and The
Dawntreader...actually almost anything on STAS, I can believe that's what we
hear.  There's a mellow almost classical (nylon) sound.  To my ears, I think
she went all steel at some point, perhaps before some of Clouds was recorded.
"Both Sides Now" as on Clouds sounds a bit different.

Starting off to a great one, the first song by Meltini's BYT. Been covered 
by many, but this different jazz group makes me want to dance to the song. I 
grew up learning the jitterbug, and this one got my dancing shoes out!

Don't know about the Steely Dan chords, but Margie Nelson from Santa 
Barbara does a killer job with "Be Cool".  Such a great sultry jazzy voice.

Tina Oldham is awesome singing "Blue", great jazzy voice.

Anna Carow has such a lovely voice and the acoustic guitar playing is 
wonderful on "Morning Morgantown" 

Not a bad bunch in the batch, Muller!
I still wanted some cheese thrown in there :)

Some may be surprised when they see the uncropped photo that ended up at the cover of
Neil Young's "After The Goldrush" album (pg.49).  The original photo includes Graham Nash.
The photo of Joni skating on Lake Mendota, WI is also included (pg.48)

The catalog also includes the Norman Seeff photo used on the cover of "Hejira" (pg. 29).
Believe me when I tell you, you've NEVER seen this photo so clearly.

Several photos by Graham Nash are also included (pg.133).

This is one of those great looking, well-done internet pages. However it is difficult and extremely
slow navigating from page to page.  So I saved it as a pdf.file.
