It is a movie made by Dave Grohl of Nirvana and Foo Fighters about a legendary studio in LA called Sound City. The first song recorded on the Neve console was "Frozen Love" that became part of the album called "Buckingham/Nicks". One day Mick Fleetwood asked the studio owner if he could recommend a guitar player. Thinking about Lindsay Buckingham, he said, "Well, yeah, but there's a problem. You have to take his girlfriend too." I laughed and laughed. The movie full of stuff like that. I watched this doco a few months ago and absolutely loved it too. Some amazing anecdotes and insights into the days of analogue...when music was human...and social...and had endless possibilities. Inspiring stuff. Another music documentary I enjoyed recently was 'Searching for Sugar Man'...about the obscure career of Mexican-American songwriter Rodriguez. If you haven't seen it - it's worth a watch.
