Keep me posted so I can update the "Joni Undercover" section of the website. Some very interesting songs in the list, to be sure. Anxious to hear them. There are quite a few (and Tierney Sutton's comes out this month) and an incomplete list can be seen here: http://jonimitchell.com/music/inspiredbyjoni_albums.cfm Bob ________________________________ From: Laurie Antonioli To: joni@smoe.org Sent: Saturday, August 31, 2013 1:14 PM Subject: Re: JMDL Digest V2013 #1251 Hello Dear Joni Fans, I've recently joined this group - it's wonderful! A little heads up: I'll be recording a new record of all Joni material hopefully before the end of this year. Even though I wanted to keep it a surprise, I thought a "teaser" might be fun. Here's the list of songs we're planning on recording and we're not sure which ones will make it to the recording, it depends on which ones turn out the best! California River Marcie I Don't Know Where I Stand Black Crow Barrangrill Both Sides Now Rainy Night House People's Parties Hissing of Summer Lawns Down to You Woman of Heart and Mind This Flight Tonight and possibly two or three others The hardest part is picking the ones we will end up putting on the recording but we have gorgeous arrangements for all of the above! It's interesting that so many people are doing "Joni" records right now. We've had this in the "lab" for over a year, well before these other Joni recordings started hitting the street. We've performed this material at SFJAZZ to two sold out shows, Yoshi's and at The Jazzschool where I'm the Director of the Vocal Program. We're going to try and hold ourselves back and not perform any more until the CD Release (the band is loving this new material) but, just wanted to add our latest to the "list" you just posted. Would those of you on this list like to be included in our announcements and fundraising blurbs? Please let me know if it's presumptuous to use this forum to let you know about this. In the meantime, I'm totally enjoying reading all these posts. Joni was and has been, for over 30 years, the inspiration that has led to a life in music.
