Is a bit of synchronicity - because a week ago I stumbled on a demo recording of "Hejira" done by a Belgian artist named Dirk Blanchart. Apparently, as are some of us on this list (I will not name names), he remains stuck in the 80's, and his recording sounds like a David Bowie/Tim Curry/Simple Minds-vibe power pop version of Hejira. The first time I heard it I found it a bit off-putting, I mean, anytime someone touches MY FAVORITE SONG ever, there should be no mucking about. However, repeated listenings have paid off and I find this cover to be really cool and know that some of y'all will agree. It's on Volume 175 or 176, I forget...since that is so far away I will upload it for anyone who is interested. Gimme a couple of days. Happy Tuesday Hippies! I love the song already. Looking forward to hearing more of the soon to be released album. It's Bowie's work in ten years, at age 66. I think the album release is next week. Has anyone heard an advance/promo?
