If there's video of the first Carnegie Hall show, that would make a great DVD. Joni was in a very good mood that night. I don't think she'll ever let go of the archives though. Jim L'Hommedieu From: Sam Stone >[L]et's say, hypothetically, Joni and the company decide to launch some kind of deluxe box set for each albums (3 or 4 CDs maximum, perhaps a DVD), plus live albums and leftovers from the vault. What would you like to see? Personally, I think each album should have demos and/or outtakes. Especially MINGUS, DJRD, and HEJIRA! As for live releases, I'd certainly buy up the Second Fret Sets, a DVD of the BBC In Concert performance (based on the setlist, I don't think it would be right to release it as a bonus disc to an album). Also a CD/DVD set of MOA and the 1974 BBC show, a full show from the 1979 tour would be awesome (complete with the Persuasions' set?), and certainly the 1994 show from the Fez. So again, what do you all think? ------------------------------ End of JMDL Digest V2012 #432 ***************************** ------- To post messages to the list, send tojoni@smoe.org.
