But then I am the running for top music slut of all time. I worked with Davy a few years ago during a Mardi Gras festival in Metairie. The Grassroots were on the same show and while I was a fan of theirs as well, they could not compare to the band that Davy had. The Grassroots played to a tape while Davy and them were totally live and off the charts good. His voice was still there and I had a blast reliving all those times. So long old friend and rest in peace! Such a good guy. The group was still doing reunion tours as of last year. I saw them on their first 20 year reunion tour in San Diego in 1986. Everyone there, no matter their ages, were all jumping and singing and acting like kids throughout the show. Bob, do you recall some of us sang a few Monkees songs late one night at the Idyllwild Jonifest? I have the recordings on my iTunes somewhere ;-) I think that was a first for a Jonifest and very fun. I remember a thread here long ago where it came out that many of us really loved their music. Though he is more well known for photographing many icons of the 60s, Henry Diltz was the premier photographer of The Monkees from inception to now. He is very close friends with them and I think he also played on a few of their recordings. RIP Davey.
