I have long considered I Think I Understand one of Joni's finest songs. Although I do not suffer from depression now, I probably did somewhat 40 years ago, when I first listened to this song, and it made me shake and weep. I was moved to the bone again in 2003 when Anita performed this song at Jonifest, and felt again in her performance that night the insights that first touched me - and no doubt touched her, too. It is a very, very powerful song. So, today I played Anita's performance, memorialized as part of my Jonifest DVD's from that year, on my Blueray, and recaptured that moment and feeling (I think I saw my head in the audience, standing and applauding at the end). It was a moving way to start this now bright day.
