Happy Holiday to you too! Clouds turned me on to Joni. I had LoTC and CS given to me by a friend, but they didn't stand out among my albums by other artists. I liked the art on Clouds so I bought the LP still thinking Joni was mediocre and I ought to give her another chance to woo me because my friend liked her so much. When I heard Clouds for the first time I was fascinated by Joni's guitar playing. I knew nothing of alternate tuning and wondered what she was doing. When I got to The Fiddle and The Drum, I kept waiting for the guitar and was disturbed when it ended without guitar happening. So I stopped and thought okay, I'm game, played it again and started really listening to Joni's lyrics from that point on, I Think I Understand's lyrics and sound have some similarity to Zeppelin's "Battle of Evermore," and I was really into ZOSO at the time. It was like lightning in the clouds, and I was struck!
