This song was written in 71 or 72, long before Dylan's Christian phase. I don't think Joni felt such rivalry towards Dylan at the time. After all, she joined him on parts of the Rolling Thunder tour in '75. If anything, she was probably referring to James Taylor. They had split and I don't think Joni took it so well.
