I remember those days when we heard everything on the radio and miss that format. I can imagine Joni turning up her nose at the popular music of that time and purposefully composing something that truly didn't sound like anything else out there ;-) I had so few 8 track tapes in the car back then and can remember them all - Hissing, Average White Band, Earth Wind & Fire and Pablo Cruise - heehee. And the beauty is that you could hear them ALL on the same radio stations. Rhinestone Cowboy followed by Shining Star followed by I'm Not In Love followed by It Only Takes A Minute. Helped me to appreciate music of all genres. Reminds me of a cartoon I saw earlier this week. A young guy telling an older guy that "no wonder you think your generation's music was better - they only play the BEST of it now". It's a 90 min drive from here and a great venue. I'll make a decision after they announce the vocalists. In other news, Laura Marling tomorrow night and the ACL festival this weekend.
