Babble away and babylon. It's great stuff and I too rate Cherokee Louise as one of Joni's greatest songs, although whether or not is quintessential is another matter :~))) However, I really value your sharing the impact of the song upon you and reminding me of the brilliant play on words and the powerful imagery. It was interesting to see a young Chuck doing Circle Game. I went to see him at The Bistro (original name!) in Atlanta in 1972. He was OK - I don't remember any Joni mentions. In 2005 I was interested to see a "Chuck Mitchell" registered for the Folk Alliance conference in Montreal..."I wonder if it's..." Went to his showcase, still wondering, but the second song he did was Circle Game, so I knew. Chatted with him a bit, and at the 2006 conference in Austin. Very nice, personable guy, as I think others have said. *************************************************** Steve Dulson Costa Mesa CA FAR-West (Folk Alliance Region - West) tinkersown@ca.rr.com www.far-west.org ------------------------------ Date: Sat, 6 Oct 2012 10:12:10 -0700 (PDT) From: Bob Muller Subject: Re: Joni Covers, Volume 153 Medium Rare Forgot to add...thanks to Alan and Monica for their help. A number of years ago, Mark in Australia sent me some songs by Elixir. Katie Noonan's voice is beautiful. A song called "Before you sleep" particularly stands out. I tried to find their stuff on amazon and couldn't for a while. Now I see that they've got some CDs by Elixir and others featuring Katie Noonan but many are very expensive - however, I did find them on I-Tunes and $9.99 ain't bad for a whole album. - ----- Original Message ----- > From: Bob Muller > To: JMDL > Cc: > Sent: Saturday, October 6, 2012 1:12:10 PM > Subject: Re: Joni Covers, Volume 153 Medium Rare > > Forgot to add...thanks to Alan and Monica for their help.
